So Much Country 'Till We Get There Cover
This is a brand new EP By Westside Cowboy by a new band from Manchester. This is the second EP the band have released following on from 'This Better Be Something Great' released last summer in 2025, which was one of my favourite releases from last year.
They class themselves as 'Britanicana' and have a slight country/rock vibe.
Here is a bit about each song from the EP:
is a Slow jangly intro to the EP, a song about William hidden behind a Taxidermy display (not sure who Will is but I like to think he's the cowboys horse) this builds up into a velvet underground-esque outro
The next track picks up the pace, the guitar riff zooms alongside the inspiring lyrics “the world is waiting for you, don't need a head start” designed for a road trip.
Released as a single in late 2025, rolling drums, spoken lyrics and a blistering guitar line. Descends into a fuzzy tense explosion.
Bouncy bass, lifting vocals. It has 1996 energy in a good way. Little twangs of country guitar creep in now and again. Before the song gets to the top and then collapses into itself.
A calming folky finish to the album, it sounds like an old bootleg with some Lo-fi Dylan guitar, and dual vocals.
Looking forward to hearing the new songs when I see them live next week. They play Gorilla in Manchester as part of a sold out tour across the UK.
