Westside Cowboy are from Manchester and are a 'britanicana' folky/indie two singers at the same time kinda energy.
They are the first band of the day, and one I've been looking forward to seeing from when I first heard 'I've Never Met Anyone I Thought I Could Really Love (Until I Met You)'
Check out the new EP 'This Better Be Something Great' for 14 mins of bangers. They are one of the most exciting bands around currently and one of the best discoveries of the year for me.
They have just announced a headline UK tour for early next year.

Anna Erhard and band are a Power pop/punk band from Berlin.
The band power through some light hearted summer bops and some more grungy slower tracks whilst backdropped by the crowd sheltering under the Mancunian way from the rain.
Anna has some quirky riffs and a vocal style similar to Courtney Barnett.

A Post Punk band from London, part of the Speedy Wunderground wonk scene which helped form bands like Black Midi and Squid.
A blend of quiet jangly guitars and massive riffs fills the room with a heavy mood, it felt like a very raw performance.

A 3 piece from Amsterdam/Berlin
When I think of the term Psych, this band pretty much nails it. Not heard anything from this band before so took a chance on them and they provided 30 mins of Fuzzy locked in grooves.
Not super heavy psych but some chill laidback riffs and sparse vocals.

My first time and hopefully not the last seeing Yasmin Coe, who said this was going to be her last gig for a while.
Yasmin Coe & co play some dreampop tracks which sound like they could be from the Twin Peaks soundtrack and performed at the Bang Bang Club.

I love this band and will go and see them any chance I get. I thought being academy 1 it might have been too much of a soulless venue but they smashed it.
Goat are a band from Korpilombolo, Sweden where apparently there is a history of witchdoctors and voodoo, Hence the cool masks?
Goat are a mix of psych, folk, afrobeat and metal which the band refer to in the album "World Music". There are a lot of members but the two singers dancing across the stage is mesmerising to watch whilst the rest of the band complete the hypnotism with an aural assault.
