I first saw COMMUTED supporting Crywank in 2022 and I had no idea what to expect. They are a solo artist who I think is best described musically as emo/screamo. They are from Toronto and are currently on a UK Tour.
The live/recorded contrast is why I really wanted to see COMMUTED again as I think the live element of the show is chaotic and works perfectly for these size venues and crowds who are willing to participate.
They started the show with some kind of gutteral screaming wandering the room and staring at people. After this intro they start to bounce around the room, Into people and mostly avoided the stage at all costs.
The tracks are pre-recorded with live vocals which when performed are high energy bops with raw emotional lyrics. This is whilst they are crawling around on the floor or at one point just leaving the room and singing behind a closed fire door.
